Silver plated spoon hallmark help

Hi would somebody please be able to identify the hallmark and year of this spoon? I believed it was possibly Joseph Gulienetti & Co but am really not sure.

Thanks
Paul

As you have identified this spoon as silver plated you should be aware that the mark is not a hallmark and that it is not possible to assign a year to it. The manufacturer is John Gilbert & Co of Birmingham and the spoon probably dates from the late 19th to early 20th century. Gilbert’s electroplate marks normally include the letters “EP” so it is possible that your spoon may not even be silver plated.

Thanks for you’re time Phil, if it’s not plated do you believe it is silver or made of another type of metal?

It is definitely not silver so is either electroplated or a base white metal.

Thank you for the help.
