Trying to figure out what this is and the possible value. It was my grandmother’s and I just recently found it. Don’t know what the “M” represents. Thanks for any help.

I don’t think this could be from L Tobert Co - it appears that they always used gothic lettering, and they were active around 1950, which would be much too late for this piece.
There’s a reference in an earlier forum post about this maker’s mark being in the “unidentified” category. Given the huge number of companies producing silverplate, and the fact that there has never been any registration system for them, that’s not unusual, alas.
The other thing to remember is that what an antique dealer is asking for a piece and what it’s worth are often widely separated numbers. A lot of “wishful thinking” goes on.
