By the time I had blown your photos of the marks up to a size I could read the pixel count had shrunk to something that looked like a map of Mars taken from earth photos in 1960.
I sent the image to a friend who has a machine for reading licence plates that are otherwise illegible and he came up crickets too.
So there you go.
And I am gathering from the comments by you 1820 is a scratch date or weight or just a repairer id number?
Look like a great box. Now all you have to do is go get a camera you can work with and all will be revealed if you are patient who those on this site who like to decipher the indecipherable.
