Hi i have what i believe to be a Samuel Godbehere, Edward Wigan, and James Bult spoon 1800-1818 but i cant see the exact date mark on the net could someone please help? Thanks
There’s no doubt that you’ve got the makers correct, and the date letter must be 1811. There appears to have been some variation in the exact typographic style of the 1811 “Q” mark - even on this page, the main image and the image that appears when you click on it, are not quite the same:
Add a couple of centuries of rubbing, and it can get even more confusing. ![]()

It is also worth bearing in mind that the assay offices would have had quite a few copies of the date letter punch, not only in a selection of sizes but also singly and in combination on a single combined punch with the the other necessary hallmark components. All of these would have been hand-made with concomitant minor variations.
