Hellow we have listed a picture of a teapot on a stand with an oil burner underneath.
Could somebody please tell us how old it is and perhaps who/when it was made and what it was used for? We were told it is a Gypsie teapot - it has been in the family for a long time.
This is not actually a teapot at all - it’s a kettle and would have been used to boil the water for making tea in situ rather than having to leave your guests to go to the kitchen. In addition it is electroplated and not silver. The manufacturer was W Hutton & Sons of Sheffield and it probably dates to the late 19th or early 20th century.
