Silver Watch Chain

Hi everyone, I would very much appreciate any help with this watch chain. I’ve had it many years and am looking to part with it, as it’s no use to me anymore. It has an Australian one shilling piece attached from 1914.

The lion and w marks are unmistakeably Birmingham sterling silver marks with w being the date code for the assay year 1921/22. The maker’s mark, FWC, is that of the business of F W Cole registered as a gold and silver chain maker.

Very many thanks Phil.
Any idea on value before I put it online? I’d like to price it right.

  1. Find an online scrap silver calculator put in the numbers to get a minimum value
  2. Find something similar in Ebay’s “sold” items
or 3) start it low and let the market decide
