Any knowledge or info on these would be greatly appreciated! It’s an antique sterling silver sugar bowl and creamer set and I haven’t fully cleaned them yet. On the bottom of one I can BARELY make out (see pic) what appears to be “Maciel” “Made in Mexico” and “Sterling” (hand carved).
“LM Maciel” refers to the Maciel Silver Factory in Mexico City. Operating from the 1930’s through the 1970’s, this workshop was celebrated for hand-wrought, heavy-gauge sterling silver flatware, hollowware and decorative items that rivalled elite Mexican brands like Sanborns.
Here’s a 1940’s set of .900 silver by the same factory:
Yours is a higher silver grade and earlier, probably pre-war.
Here’s sterling marked as yours is:
The factory is no longer in business. Its product, especially earlier items, are highly collectable.

Thank you!! Do you think Ebay would be the best place to sell them to collectors?
There are a number of similar items for sale on Ebay and presumably they all think exactly that.
Auction houses, real ones, take about 45% of the gross sale value in fees charged to seller and buyer.
Consignment to a reputable dealer specializing in the product is probably an avenue to explore.
