Sugar Tongs Hallmark Identification

I have a pair of sugar tongs with the attached hallmark. I would be very grateful for any help in identifying them.

They are not magnetic (I believe this indicates that they are are silver, as opposed to plated).

They are 5.5 inches long.

My first post in this forum.

Sorry to say that your tongs are not silver. They appear to be nickel silver, which is an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc. This is why they are not attracted to a magnet. There is no ferrous metal content in the tongs. The presence of the crown suggests that they date from before the 1890’s, when the Sheffield Assay Office clamped down on the use of psudo-marks on silver substitutes.
