Can anyone help with the marking a pair of sugar tongs. I have just started collecting and though I have tried to discover some info have not succeeded. Thanks
The mark is upside down in your image and reads “EPNS” in gothic lettering. This simply stands for ElectroPlated Nickel Silver and is a generic term and marking style which cannot be assigned to any particular manufacturer. It also means of course that your tongs are not silver.

Thank you I did not even realise this was upside down. I have a lot to learn!
