Tea Service

I picked up a 15 piece tea service with marks that indicate it could be solid silver (950). I am extremely doubtful.
It would be helpfut if someone could recognise the marks - a long shot, but who knows.
Some of it ‘feels’’ like silver, but am doubtful if a modern tea service would be made from solid silver of this grade, but will carry out a silver fineness test in the meantime.
The picture shows the partial set, with the mark in the shield showing ‘SMS’, a crescent moon & the letter ‘I’.
Any input would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance
John

I don’t know about the marks, but I agree with you on thinking it isn’t real. It also looks like a 60s modern design, or just an overly simplistic one. Any story from where it came from?
