Hello everyone.
I am trying to find out about a spoon with some hallmarks that have got me baffled.
If anybody could help with identifying the marks, it would be very much appreciated. It is for a charity shop, so i am trying to do the best for them.
Thank you in advance…Tonycan.
The makers mark is W B S inside a shield cartouche.

No luck with this one, so far. What we can say with some certainty is that it’s not sterling. If it were from the U.K., or from almost anywhere in Europe, it would have true hallmarks. If it were sterling from anywhere in North America, it would say, “STERLING,” very unambiguously.
If forced to make a guess, I’d say it’s silver plate from someone like Wallace Brothers Silver, Wallingford, CT, or Weidlich Brothers, Bridgeport, CT.
Very little value, I’m afraid - no precious metal, so it’s purely decorative.
