Unknown maker on Milk Jug

I have an 1802 creamer. Can’t seem to identify the maker. Probably because I’m not sure whether it is IW, JW or LW (looks the closest).

Thanks!

I think it would be ‘SW’, but again, having looked through Grimwade, shows as an unregistered mark.
Our moderator may shine more light on it.

No more light at all. John has said all that is known about this mark; i.e. It’s SW and it is an unregistered (and therefore unidentifiable) mark. I have also seen this mark with a 1798 hallmark so SW was obviously producing silver for several years. I have no idea how SW managed to get his silver through the assay process, though.

Thanks for the help. Amazing how the maker managed to avoid registration. Such an ornate mark too…
