Unfortunately there are no published references for Birmingham sponsors’ marks of this period. Normally I would suggest contacting the Birmingham Assay Office directly for an ID but recent history suggests that they are not currently responding to queries.

Many thanks for the help, ill give it a try and see what happens, I’m just really interested in why it was hallmarked to start with as it seems unusual
