Would anyone know the country of origin on this lovely small cup/shot glass. I feel it could be a Swedish Schnapps cup since the perforated edge resembles spoons from Lapland. It is some kind of silver alloy probably 800? but there are no markings. I was purchased it in a “ vide Grenier “ in France. I was trying to identify the date and country of origin. Thank you for your comments.
Any hallmarks, signatures, whatever?
It is difficult to think of less useful modification to a goblet than to lattice-work the rim you drink out of – well perhaps dribble out of.
The only way it might work is you use it exclusively for those annoying cocktails you put salt around the rim and then drink out of a straw, thereby circumnavigating the salted edge.
French attic sales or vide geniers can be fun but the French are fairly canny about selling precious metals.
This is a nation that turns out its government on the least excuse, has almost zero faith in paper money and which has a middle class holding a higher percentage of gold than any other. Exactly what the percentage is nobody knows because, of course, no owners will admit to holding any.

No markings whatsoever
I found a lot of silver at a reasonable price or simply not identified in the smaller towns outside Paris ….this past September. This quickly changed as I came closer to Paris. Thank you for your comments
Well done. French silver? Minerva standard?

It was a bit of a mixture. some E. Puiforcat with Minerva marks…some Russian silver but not Imperial Russian and some less interesting Egyptian silver. Even the well identified silver was below its silver value. That said, I did not find any silver with early French marks.
That’s what worries me about 80% of the silver on the market, it’s selling below spot.
Auctions pump it up and Ebay is getting to be a static ad board rather than a real on-line auction.
All of which is boring. I buy what I can but it has to meet three criteria:
Be interesting,
Be at a price I can afford and
Be something other people will want more than I do.
