Anyone have any info about this goblet and if it could be silver? No hallmarks or markings anywhere. Thanks.
Without markings you need to test, but I have seen and even have a chalice without markings that is solid silver.
Scratch the goblet here and see if there is a different metal underneath. It looks to me like it is solid silver.

Look for markings at the very top all the way around, and the item itself - depending on the dimensions - may be an egg cup.

I think we can accept the poster’s assurance that there are no marks on this piece. That leads me to conclude that not only is it not sterling, it might not even be silverplate. Given how misshapen it is, I’m inclined to think that it might be pewter. Almost certainly not EPNS, as nickel silver is exceptionally strong, and wouldn’t bend like this.
But have it assayed. Anything else is going to be an uninformed guess.

As a music lover and collector of records, both vinyl and CD, I pay special attention to the medium, its origin and history. Hence my requests for in-depth research on the object, whatever it may be…
In general, items without hallmarks were made by small goldsmiths who do not mark their pieces. I have a curious case with an item like this. Look at this little trophy. I took it to sell to be melted down. It has no hallmarks. The guy glued it to the XRF, scratched it deeply, but turned to me and said that when it turns completely black, the piece is usually plated, so he wouldn’t buy it. I sold him more than 2 kilos of silver, and several items had no hallmarks, but he didn’t take this one just because it was dark. I’ll clean it and take it next time.
