Hi. Purchased this early silver snuff box at a Sydney auction recently , mother of pearl lid with previous owners name.
Most unusual marks to base , definitely silver, not plate. Quite heavy , weighs 75 grams.
1st Mark is partially obscured, 2nd seems to be a swan in the shape of a “S” and third is what appears to be a running fox.?
The box is very well made and measures about 3 inches in length.
Any ideas regarding these marks would be appreciated.
