I have a 6 inch knife with a curved and pointed blade. It is a piece of Wallace Sterling, but I cannot identify the name of the pattern or the use of this knife
How about sending a picture of this knife? ![]()
I was too fast, too furious… ![]()
Nothing…
It looks a little bit like a steak knife, is the blade sharp? Although seems a bit short in length ![]()
Depending on sharpness perhaps butter or fruit?
The pattern has corn growing, but I haven’t come across a definitive pattern ID, but there are a few items with varying corn patterns. Not a huge fan of AI, but I think this statement sums up the possibility that corn being a staple, there’s a chance the knife was “custom made” - which leads me to believe butter and corn go together
- those are my findings, which I hope helps.

It looks ‘Art Nouveau’ in style with the natural subject matter and the round curves of the knife itself. If so that would put it around 1880 - 1910. It looks very much like one my Uncle had back in the 1960’s (although his was a modern version). He was a trained Chef and used it for gutting fish. This could be totally wrong for this piece, but just thought I’d mention it.
