Whiting or Wallace...that infamous W

I have an interesting knife, about 14 inches in length. It reads “W” and “sterling” on the handle. I believe it to be American, possibly Whiting (although Wallace is certainly in the running). Thoughts?

Hi there Bristol and thanks for joining us. Your knife was made by the Frank M. Whiting Co. of North Attleboro, Mass. between 1896 and 1940 when the company was absorbed by the Ellmore Silver Co. which went out of business in 1960.
