Savoy Memorabilia - Collectibles For sale in Rimini
The image depicts an engraved monogram surmounted by a crown, which is characteristic of the Cosulich Line shipping line (also known as Cosulich Società Triestina di Navigazione). Here are the details about this marking: Monogram: It consists of decorative letters, often interpreted as the initials of the Cosulich family, intertwined with the so-called Savoyard knot (symbol of the ruling dynasty of Italy). Crown: The royal crown surmounting the monogram indicates the line’s prestige and its ties to the Kingdom of Italy after the takeover of Trieste in 1921. Use: Such markings were found on silver tableware (cutlery, platters), porcelain, and other furnishings of luxury transatlantic liners such as the Saturnia and Vulcania. Origin: Cosulich Line was one of the most important Italian passenger lines in the first half of the 20th century. In 1932, as a result of a state-managed merger, it became part of the Italian Line (Italia Flotte Riunite).

Thanks! Do you think this is silver?

I think it’s silver plated.

It would make sense, if this is for use in the dining rooms of a shipping line, that they would not use solid silver. Silver plated ware, as Bart suggests, would be a much more intelligent choice.
