Please help decoding these marks

Hi

Can someone help identity the marks on a big table piece of over 3000 gram?

Silver or silver-plated metal?

Also I see a mark with text stating ‘Virtutis Gloria Merces,’ shown together with a hand that holds a crown. See picture.

Probably bought in England ~1980 in an antique shop. When you take the lid off a scale in the lower scale can be seen making it a piece existing of three parts.

Appreciate the input :folded_hands:t2:

“Virtutis gloria merces” is a Latin phrase meaning “Glory is the reward of valor.” It is the motto of the Scottish Clan Robertson (also known as Clan Donnachaidh or Clan Struan).

Thank your for your reply. Any idea what the other markers mean? I’m new here and also new in the world of silverware. We are letting go of this piece but want to sell it for a fair price. Any help is appreciated! Greetings from Antwerpen

PNS stands for Plated Nickel Silver.
3000G - probably pattern (model) number.

Thank you so much. Any idea what the other 4 markers next to the PNS mean? I seem to read a capital I, D, &, S?

You won’t make a fortune on this… A few dozen dollars at most.
